Plastic Surgery Istanbul Request a plan

Questions

Answered plainly

The questions worth asking any surgeon abroad, including the ones a clinic would rather you did not ask.

Who actually performs the operation?

Op. Dr. Arda Akgün, at his own private clinic in Şişli, Istanbul. You are not assigned to whichever surgeon is free that week. Every consultation and every clinical decision is his.

Is this a clinic or an agency?

This site presents Op. Dr. Akgün's work and handles enquiries. It is not itself a hospital or healthcare provider. The surgery takes place at his independent clinic, and he is responsible for your clinical care.

How long will I need to stay in Turkey?

It depends on the operation and on how your first days go, so the surgical team sets it rather than a standard package. Ask for the figure in writing before you book flights, and treat any clinic that gives you a number before knowing your plan with caution.

What does the price include?

You should get an itemised answer covering the operation, anaesthesia, the hospital or clinic stay, follow-up, and what happens if a revision is needed. If any of those are missing from a quote, ask before you commit.

What if something goes wrong after I fly home?

Ask this before booking, not after. You want to know how you reach the surgeon, what the revision policy covers, over what period, and who pays for what. Get the answer in writing. A clinic that cannot answer clearly has told you something useful.

Is it safe to fly soon after surgery?

Flying raises the risk of blood clots after any operation, and some procedures add their own restrictions, such as the sitting limits after a BBL. Your return date should follow the surgeon's instruction rather than your original booking.

Do you guarantee a result?

No, and neither should anyone else. Surgery works on living tissue that heals differently in different people. What can be promised is a clear plan, an honest assessment of what your anatomy allows, and a stated position on revisions.

Will you tell me if I should not have surgery?

Yes. Every treatment page here carries a section on when the operation is not the answer, and that is not decoration. Unstable weight, planned pregnancy, unrealistic expectations and smoking are all genuine reasons to wait or to decline.

What languages can I be treated in?

Op. Dr. Arda Akgün speaks English and Turkish. Interpretation for other languages is arranged where needed.

Can I see before and after photographs?

Not on this site yet. The photographs you see on treatment pages are illustrative stock images, never patient results, and they are captioned as such. Real before and after photographs will only appear here with the patient's consent and attributed to the surgeon who performed the operation. If you want to see relevant cases before deciding, ask and they will be shared with you directly.
